Gauge Bezel restoration Just dashes vs. CV Vacuum Platters

I am looking restore my gauge bezel.
Has anyone every used CV Vaccum Platters in Canada?(www.cvvacuumplaters.com)

I spoke with them and they were very nice. They quoted me about half the price as Just Dashes... Just looking to see if anyone on here has used them and how did things turn out??

Thanks

I've never delt with them, but I see that shipping a dash to them and back is going to be costly.

I am using these guys for my 2 woodgrain bezels (71 & 73)

http://american-classic.com/begin.html

My decision to use them was based on the pictures/feedback I found in this thread

http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showth...ght=DASH+BEZEL

Let us know if you use the other people as it would be good to have some feeback on their capabilities/quality of work

I was going to check them out as well. Thanks for the thread. The woodgrain bezel in that thread is similar to what I have. Hopefully mine will turn out as nice. What are you having done and about what are they charging you?
CV quoted me $225 and just dashes quoted $550. This was for the chrome and repainting of the black areas and application of the woodgrain overlay.
Thanks.

I've used American Classic - they do nice work. I think I showed you the '67 A-pillar mouldings I had done Mike.

I had heard that no one reproduced suitable burl material - do you have a sample of their material? Would like to see it.

I have yet to get the quote. I just sent them off a short while ago.

They are completely going to redo them. New chrome, fixing the broken screw holes and they have to redo all of the lettering. They told me they soak the whole part and chemically clean it but they never specified anything further.

Joe- I do not think you can get the burl material either. My quote was for attaching my existing burl overlay. I have a couple now and will pick the best one. Sorry if I insinuated that I was getting new or reproduced burl material.

Were your screw holes just cracked or completely missing small chunks? If missing small chunks of the plastic by the screw holes can they fix that?

Thanks

All 4 holes on one of the bezels were cracked. I think they can fix it even if you have small pieces missing.

Give them a call.

Hi Guys, This is Mike from Instrument Specialties, just so you know both american classic resto and cv vacuum platers are out of business. We are taking in a lot of referrals from CV. If we can help any folks out with their plastic chrome plating needs, we are happy to. All work is 100% show quality. Thanks Mike Mancini 401-267-0055 www.instrument-specialties.com

They sell a metallic silver flake ink pen for $10 at most hobby stores.

it's not chrome, but for that kind of price that's insane.
