78 LT progress finally!!

Hey everyone,

I finally get to start a thread in this section! Those of you that I've asked for tips and advice on here I want to thank you. This site has helped me build a knowledge base on my car that I did not have before.

My car had sat in a barn on my grandma's farm since '99 or '00 until about 3 days ago. I teamed up with my father-in-law(he had the car trailer) to get my car to my house.

After 45 minutes of pushing and shoving it finally came off the trailer. It's pretty hard to roll a car with 4 flat tires! It sat over night and the next morning I went to a used tire shop to get some rubber that would actually hold air. $110 and one day later I had it in my garage and up on the dollies.

This morning I went out into the garage intending on knowing where I was going to start tearing into this project only to wander around it with no plan of action...BUT I did finally get going. Here are some pics from the last couple of days. I appologize for the fuzzy pics, our camera is kinda old.

On I-35 coming home...

Off the interstate decided to take another pic.

Started small by just taking out the headlight and parking light bezels.

That wasn't enough so I proceed to take the seats, and any interior out. I'm trashing alot of the interior because of dry rot and sun damage, but trying to salvage things I know aren't being reproduced.

Going to tackle the pulling up of the carpet and maybe the dash and steering wheel....After I get some sleep.

Look! It actually fit into my garage! I will get a pic with the wifes car, my bike, and my car in there later.

76 camaro car---There is a hole in the passenger floor about the size of a 50 cent piece, cancer in the drivers side rear quarter panel...That's all I've uncovered so far.

z28rod That's what I was planning I thought. Going to strip it completly down first. I'm wanting to do a frame off resto. Looking at possibly going the Pro-touring route minus the LSx motor.... I have a 454/TH400 waiting for me at my in-laws.

I need to get new springs and shocks right away definately, so it's not so damn hard to get the jack under it.

You have a good find there. Looks like it even has a pretty good shine to it.
