Does anyone still make VW kit car bodies?

A buddy of mine called me the other day and said he found and old VW bug frame with 4 tires and a transmission in the woods near his house. I've been daydreaming about Manx body dune buggy kits for days now and I need to start pricing bodies, so I can be completely discouraged and get back to working on the Camaro. I found this website: Manx bodies are starting around $1,000, but it looks like you have to shorten the VW frame to make it work.

You see all sorts of freaky VW bug bodies pop up on eBay every now and then, unfortunately many of them look like they should have stayed in the 70s!

If those bodies above are $1,000.00 that sounds like quite a deal to make it into a useable toy, although you wouldn't catch me in one of those out on the street with say..... a 3600lb 2nd Gen Camaro riding behind it.

I'd be more inclinded to turn it into a Baha bug with a crazy exterior roll cage like some of the Jeeps have and then go run the dunes!
6Spd EFI 1980 Camaro Z28/Z49 - Street Fighter - Amongst other GM autos Atomic Orange Z06 is next!
