I painted, since it won't be driven on a regular basis; won't need the extra protection. Underside red is brighter in pictures due to flash. I had local paint shop mix up color to match the red ox Primer and used flattening agent to keep the gloss down.

Hello and thank you. When a project takes this long, ideas change three times before anyting is finalized. I am leaning toward the stock cranberry, and adding black stripes (not original). I have also considered Silver with black stripes. The interior is black. I have a white/blk stipes and a blue/whi stripes, what would you recommend?

I'm a little biased towards dark red/cranberry.
With a black interior, your options are unlimited but it's always nice to have the color match the trim tag, or at least be close.

I finally found some time to play again. So, the saga continues with endless block sanding.

Huh??? "What do you mean, I missed a spot?!?! Critics; critics are everywhere!
Yeah, yeah, I know - every job needs a good supervisor.

Finally all the block sanding is done.

All cut ins are ready

All parts and panels are done.
Where is the Paint????
Still trying to decide, the Jewel Red on the new GM/Chevrolet was my first choice -
until I was informed that the base was a three part series and it alone was $1,100 dollars!!!
So I'm rethinking.

The saga continues with piecing it all back together after cutting in/jamming.

Adjusting panels waiting for warm weather.

Final product will have a black cherry center stripe with a bright red pin stripe separating the two colors

Here is a close up on the bright maroon I chose.

Finally started adding a little color. Blk Cherry Base for the wide stripe and a bright red pin stripe, which will be cut down to 1/4 inch.

Tail panel is the same theme. Hopefully the main body will be shot this coming weekend.
