that rear end is bone stock.....stock axles, non welded tubes, stock posi, changed the 308s a couple weeks ago for the 342s out of another 8.5...car has been running in the 9's for 5 years ..... i don't have my slicks screwed and they did a bit of moving on the rims. i really thought something might let go last night....but i couldn't break it...3000 rpm off the brake.

the stock 10 bolts in our cars are very strong, as ive said here before alot of nhra stock eliminater cars run these 10bolts with mods. cause they are light compaired to say 12bolt or dana, and very cheap compaired to 9" ford...

breaking axles they use aftermarket like strange, twisting tubes they weld the axle tubes, breaking U-joints they use spicer ujoints, and C-clips they use c-clip eliminater kits... = no failure........

I don't disagree either, but the stock 10 bolt will only last so long when you brutalize it like that. You'll be the 1st to know when its service life expires. Unfortunantly it'll most likely happen when you'd prefer it not to.
The 12 bolt is insurance & safety in this case. But I agree the 10 bolt is mighty strong and totally adaquate for the majority of folks.
