Electric Water Pump Q's - Brands, Life, Rebuild...
Looking at getting a electric water pump instead of an electric conversion kit. Prolly gonna get a proform since they are priced reasonable. Could some of you guys who have electric pumps chime in.
- What is the life span for one of these?
- If they do go bad, are there rebuild kits?
- Brand you prefer?
- Any experiances good/bad?
Thanks, this is gonna be one of many questions I'll be asking as I make my list of things to buy in the next month.

I have a Meziere 55gpm its been on the car for almost 2 years no issues.
They told me I can except a 2,000 hour life and are rebuildable.
Alan grove makes a nice bracket for your alternator to crank.

Thanks for the replies. I don't drive the car a lot anymore. Well maybe once I finish this up coming round of mods. Looking at getting some things to make the car more realiable and free up some hp without touching the motor.

Good and bad for me!
Good coz it frees up HP & I could feel the differance, bad coz I like to run below 180° and with the Moroso pump it was constantally above 180° but never went above 200°, thats with two 14" fans running all the time in cool weather, now warmer weather is here I've gone back to original standard pump. I also feel running the electric pump helped cook my trans! probally coz I have stock trans cooler in the rad?

The plan is to put on my s10 manual steering box. Taruas electric fan and electric water pump. So this all should free up some hp and I think cool better then the stock clutch fan/mechanical water pump combo.
I take it from lilred's post I'll need a special bracket for the alternator

X3 on the alan grove bracket. This is the cheapest and cleanest way to run an electric water pump. You will need a long water pump crank pulley also.
