There is another style of 19" wheel Ford has for the '10 Mustang that I much prefer over the one shown, but overall I like this new Mustang much better over the previous year. Also in 2011 the Mustang gets an all-new 5.0L V8 making 422 HP which is known as the "Coyote" engine. The Raptor will get the same engine in '11 as well. According to Road & Track magazine Ford does not want to talk about this new engine at the moment because they feel it will negatively impact the '10 model year sales. The '10 Mustang GT comes with the 315 HP engine (up 15 HP by using the Bullitt's cold air system).

I gotta say, i like it...

I just hope all the new muscle survives, it's good to have new performance out there. If for no other reason so some dingleberry will wreck one and provide me with a complete '10 Camaro drivetrain swap.

Ya think ?? LOL
Man.....Ford finally is catching up with the HP #'s......I'm impressed.
Now if they jack up the prices accordingly, you will see some change
in their sales numbers obviously......

Hopefully they ditched the DOHC style.....
Is this the Raptor ?? http://videos.streetfire.net/video/N...the_154703.htm

Now I have to go look it up.

I believe it *is* a DOHC engine, but could be wrong on that.

The Raptor is a kick-ass Ford F-150 based on the FX-4 chassis. It's designed to travel at high speed over off-road terrain and is much anticipated by the offroad truck crowd:

Raptor is a limited-edition sport truck similar to the Lighting except 4x4.
I just took it for a little blast behind the dealership and there's a sharp hairpin turn which I took at about 50mph,felt rock solid and those Pirelli's never even made a squeal.I read where they're $389/ea...

Pirelli's are retarded expensive.

The 19's on the G8 are Pirelli's and are about $375 each

Great looking truck.

I'm sure we'll see sales #'s in border towns and Mexico skyrocket with that kind of advertising.

Some people have given GM crap for taking so long to bring back the Camaro.

But how long has Ford allowed the Mustang to be produced with no real factory HP engine options (let's disregard the mega dollar Roush, Saleen, Shelby versions).

Ford is finally taking performance seriously because GM is producing (and selling) 400+ HP today. They've know for how long that GM would have this engine in the car? And they can't get a 400+ HP car to market until 2011...

GM brought the Camaro back when they could do it right. The Camaro V6 is almost even with the current Mustang V8 on power...

Personally I don't like any Mustang other than the 67 fastback...they all suck donky balls.

seems like this site gives more attention to new mustangs than new Camaros sometimes...lol

Love this angle...needs hood stripes & pins though. Check out how they kicked up the edges of the fenders like the original cars...keeping with the heritage theme. That and the upward crease near the b-pillar are both excellent cues to the past...

You make good points with the comparison pics John. I hated those flares too. I really do like the new look on the front, and I also like the side view. BUT, they should have left the rear end alone!!!! It would have been perfect.

I think i'll stick with my non ricer Z71. That truck looks like it needs a big fart can muffler hanging off the back.

Edit: That black "mud" decal on the bed looks real sharp.... not

Wow -- sounds like someone took a 2nd helping of extra-jealous this morning.

Ford spent a LOT of $ on the suspension of that truck with assistance from the offroad aftermarket, and if one watches the videos online, it's pretty impressive for a production F-150. Whether it's a Ford or not doesn't matter to me, if the truck works as well as this one does it's going to be quite a machine regardless.

I'm sure Ford felt they had to step up their game with the 425 HP Challenger, and the 420+HP Camaros about to hit the dealerships with the upcoming 422 HP 5.0L Coyote engine. But they also already have the 540 HP '10 Shelby GT500 waiting in the "kill 'em all, y'all" category. So until GM and Mopar step up the power of their top offerings it's going to be Ford who still comes to the table the quickest with the mostest in the 'ponycar' wars.

Jealous of that ugly truck? He doesn't like the styling - that's his personal taste - and mine too.

Ya think Ford felt they had to step up their game???

The 400+ HP Camaros are at the dealerships NOW.

When Ford (and Chrysler) start selling their 400+ HP Pony Cars for a low $30,000.00 sticker price - you can start bragging up the competition.

For $33,000.00 (based on what John posted as the price of the one in this thread) all you get is the puny 315 HP motor. It takes nearly $50,000.00 to get the Mustang over 315 HP today.

What is the price going to be of the proposed 2011 5.0L Mustang? Will it have the torque of the 6.2L Camaro? Which car will handle better?

Well.....if you think about it....
That's because the Camaro has been MIA for 7 years now.

HOWEVER.....now that it's back in all of it's glory, it should have 7 years
of backlogged praise to come it's way. I'm very stoked to see it back myself.
GM done very good if you ask me. The Pony Muscle cars are back.

As for the New Mustang VS the New Camaro , which handles better.......
We'll never know since Ford is too chickensh** to hit up the Nurburgring and show us what it has.

BTW - I wouldn't call a 540hp Shelby 500KTR Mustang a "pony car" myself......
The very definition of "Pony Car" means "Affordable" ....the KTR Shelby 500 is not Affordable.
I know it's a Mustang, but when the price comes VERY close to that of a Corvette Z06
which weighs 800lbs less that would absolutely destroy it.....I mean.....lets be realistic.

No hatin......but you can't compare a Shelby GT500 or Shelby GT500KTR to any Camaro.
Those are priced in the Corvette class.....and we know the Corvette would be whoopin dat ass.

Funny I saw one of these on the road today and had to take a picture because I find the tail light set up to be a step down.. I don't like the tapered look and that emblem is big enough to pull off and play frisbee with. Not a huge fan at all. The only one the got it right was the dodge challenger.
