81 hood solenoid switch
Sometimes simple things drive you crazy. I re-painted my gas pedal bracket for my 81 camaro. I purchased a repo switch that mounts to the gas pedal bracket. Too me on the bench, it does not seem like I have enough travel on the gas pedal. I guess we all want more pedal right? Anyway here are a few pics of what I'm talking about. In the pics the assembly is fully closed to wide open throttle. Maybe somebody could compare it to their car. On the last pic the small dowel is about in the middle of the bracket. Thanks, Russ

Looks about the same as mine. It will look about right once it's in place.

yea it looks the same as mine too. did you put that rubber piece on the kick down switch to make the hood flaps open sooner? (vs floored)

Actually the rubber piece was already on there. Ive never seen one on one of these switches. Not sure if its original.

parts departmentment at a GM dealership can get the switch. P/N 1242101, about $25.
just put a rubber grommet around the switch lever, and it will open about where you want it, without 'stopping' the pedal travel. A piece of hose may be too stiff.
