dynoed the twin turbo 496 yesterday
but due to it getting late and not wanting to wake up the neighbors it only did a 3000 to 4000 rpm pull...and so far.........WOW!!!!!!!!! gotta love turbo's
before turbo's, with crack in number 8 spark plug and some upper rpm missfiring
and with these on it

something doesn't jive with the torque and hp crossing below 4800. i'd ask them about that. should be @5252rpms. otherwise,, great numbers with those twins if the math jives.

i run an overdrive and lockup convertor and put a lot of miles on it....and with that much torque i don't run a lot of gear so this works good at low rpm...the turbo's are small for the engine but for what its built for it will work good. dude at the dyno has a 1300 hp twin turbo in his 55 wagon and its square port heads bigger cam and bigger turbos and everything happens later on his.

this is what its done on...since my last set of slicks got shredded and shot out of the building on little chunks i won't wheel dyno my big blocks.

That's the exact same model my engine was on a few years ago...supposed to be a very good machine.
But still, tq and hp are supposed to cross at 5250, always. Maybe not if you chop the throttle mid pull or something...?
And ya, I wouldn't wheel dyno on slicks either...

this is all i found to explain it so far
Crossing over @ 5252 only happens on a graph that uses the same # scale for both torque and hp

Ahhh yes, I see... my graphs show a single scale for hp and tq.... yours has two scales on the right side. That's why we're confused... so where the lines cross at ~3860rpm on the turbo pull it made around 1200lbs tq, and 880 hp, if I read it right. !!!
That's too much power, you're gonna have to turn it down some or the sb guys will start to whimper.

What size tire do you think the 10.5 outlaw guys pushing 3000hp are running? They are 10.5W (Gay I know) and are 12.1" wide if I am not mistaken. So yeah it can be done if you have enough money.
My cousins 496 made over 900hp N/A on the engine dyno. He is now feeding a 2 stage fogger system of 500hp. He runs the 10.5 outlaw class for fun. Needless to say the nova runs great but not with the big dogs that have $200K cars.

I am curious how much money you have wrapped up in the turbo setup? In american dollars. Thats something I have thought about doing some day.
