Saturday night i got some more work done. Decided to have some fun and coat my valve covers. All in all it went alright. Goofed up and grabbed gloss black instead of silver vein and coated one valve cover. But i got the other one done. Then sunday i stripped the black back off and redid it and my master cylinder. I think they turned out pretty good. I like this look alot.
Valve covers before:
Blasted them and powder coated them
Here is the master Cyl. The silver vein isnt as heavy i assume because the metal wasnt as hot as the aluminum.
Yesterday i bought the rest of the stainless steel brake lines i need. Didnt get a prop valve yet. I plan to rebuild the booster and if possible powder coat it semi gloss black.
I still need to get the frame adjusted. I dont have a tram gauge so a tape measure is all i got to use. Anyone have a link to different points to measure and get me all squared away? Thanks for the help and looking at what ive gotten done. -Matt

Got my brake lines in. Progress has been crawling lately. Heat index has been 110-115 for about a week. Im finally getting to go back to work tomorrow so money will start coming back in. I got some touch up painting done yesterday but im itching to really get things moving. Hang in there and ill be back on it soon.

So last night i got the sub frame pretty dang close to square. I will recheck it later on just to make sure. Works been very slow and the heats finally backed off so hopefully i can get some work done. I have plenty to do. I picked up the parking brake cables from classic industries Friday, they should be here this Friday. I sold my air induction air cleaner and some leaf spring parts and managed to pick up this bad boy.
Man that thing really pops against the silver vein. I was going to coat it silver vein since cast aluminum doesn't stay so pretty for long. I wasn't wanting to spray paint it either. I'm looking into putting clear powder coat over the intake but im not 100% sure on that either.
Not much else to really show for. Im sure ill have more soon. Just trying to hang in there. More to come. -Matt

What a cool thread...
Jeez, those valve covers are simply outstanding, too.. What a cool touch, and a great idea!
I want to do that too, to my master cylinder...
Your attention to detail is truly fantastic, and enviable....

lol just powder coated it so idk if you would want it anymore lol
Cleaned it up and masked it off:
Applying silver vein:
Here it is done. Its far from perfect but i think it turned out alright:
Ive gotta say this was a very challenging part to coat. With all of the angles and the raised plenum. I guess i cant complain with the turn out. What do you guys think? Thanks for checking out my progress. Time for bed. -Matt
