body panel align. Q's

im in the process of tearning down my cars front end (its a rs) to pull the subframe and weld up the fire wall... the question is are there any tricks to do so when i put it back together its as simple as can be to line it all back up now... the car has great paint and gaps now... is there a way to mark it before i remove it? and could i take most of the front panels off the car attached so i dont have to deal with that?

first and most important is to take pictures
then bag the shims and mark their locations
Another trick is to use a grease pencil and draw alignment lines from panel your removing to stationary body part.

Ditto. I took apart the entire front clip, then three years later played hell lining it all up. This idea only works though if you reuse all the parts that are there now.

Yes, The entire front clip can be removed as an assembly. Leave the fenders, wheel wells, cowl, valance and core support all one piece.

are you serious mark?
damn wouldnt that be extremly heavy? esp. being a rs car.
im going to remove the wheel wells to paint, do you think it will be that hard to line back up the fenders to the header and lower valence?
