Front runners

I always wanted set of bigs and littles but the money always went to shocks or drivetrain etc. I have a set of stock alum 15 X 7s 225 70 15s on the front now. Over the weekend we did some racing and my buddies car was leaving horrible. I was blaming it on the road race style sway bar, the lack of front suspension movement but others kept saying of its his heavy front tires. Does anyone know exactly what a front runner will gain? I was going to finish my dual shot cheater and recam but if there is a real gain I would considers it.

well, you reduce rotating mass, and front end weight. your rollout will improve as well....I don't have any real world data for you though. I always ran skinnies. I don't think it would be huge by any means.

.

Also don't know the exact numbers, but getting weight off front is worth way more than you can imagine.
Big help on reaction time, traction, weight transfer, rolling resistance ect. Good luck.

For street driving I would not reccommend them, especially highway.

Like MR.DRAGSTER said anything is beneficial, I think my buddy borrowed mine for a few passes made no noticable difference in a 13 sec ride. few hundreths

Mine is running 7.04 in the 1/8th but I still don't think it would make more than a .1 or .2 at the VERY most. I would like to improve my 60' better than a 1.58 but I am still tuning my rear double adjustables.

I recall a discussion year-ago about how skinnies effect ET:
the general thought was in most street-style cars, the weight-savings was off-set by the decreased roll-out of the smaller diameter tire, and a few hundredths was the best bet.
