not running right

i have a 1980 camaro with a 350. it had recently just got a new cam and intake. when the car is idleing the whole engine and car start to shake back and forth(like a vibrator).but the car has all the power it had if not more.runs great it is just really bumpy. i was wondering if anyone would have any leads or ideas to what the problem could be. could it be vacums lines, timing????? i am not sure. thanks for all the help

Yes, to all your questions. It could be a vacuum leak. That shows up mostly at idle. It could be the vacuum line, or maybe the intake didn't get sealed when put back on. It could be just bad spark plug wires, or plugs.

There are a lot of possibilities here, including a new cam with lots of duration that is supposed to idle with a lope.

If it has good power the entire way up through the RPM range, then I would say you got a rock that was created by the cam. Nothing to worry about, in fact, I thought lopey cams were cool myself.
