removal of emergency brake CABLE from interior

I have a rusted up factory ebrake system I want to replace. What is the best way to get these out?? I read the thread on how to remove from the rear end but I am wondering how to remove it from the actual pedal?? The assembly manual is vague as well. Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.

there is one or 2 bolts inside the cab that hold the brake lever to the side of the kickpanel and also 2 in the engine bay that are a pain to get too. as you are looking at your master cylinder they are to the right of it. 2 9/16" nuts that are verticle.

look at number 19 those are the 2 in the engine bay that are right of the master and booster

^^ like Tommy said two nuts accessed from the engine compartment (pita!!) and a bolt and a nut on a stud #16^) behind the kick panel.

I have the one out of my 71 all cleaned and painted up with automotive paint, even a new pedal pad and chrome trim on it. $40 + shipping. I'll get pics if yer interested, shoot me a pm.

Break Cable removal, sorry

Thank you both. The pedal assembly on mine is in great shape, its the actual emergency brake cable, sorry thinking and not typing what i meant. Anyway I would like to remove the cables only as it is rusted under the car and will not operate.

Thanks again for any suggestions or tricks on this one.

Once ya get it free underneath you should have enough slack to get it out of the ratchet mechanism. There is a clip that holds the cable housing to the mechanism (#13) and another where the cable goes through the floorboard.
