Anyways...found my problem....
the 12V SWITCHED ign wire I had......I used a splice/crimp connector (blade that cuts/contacts 2 wires). Anyways, it never 'cut' the insulation to the line to my temp control, so I had a 'dead' control....then I jumped it and burnt the controller
$35 later I think I'm back in business....but now I'm involved in another project and dragging it out....

LOL'Z....
Nah, the problem was that my low speed temp controller wasn't working....all I had was a manual switch for HIGH....
Well, after buying a new controller and rechecking the wiring...I found that my 12V switched wire was dead....and the source ended up being these -
The 'blade' portion didn't cut thru the insulation on the wire going to my controller, so it was 'essentially dead' , til I jumped it and burnt it out....
HOPEFULLY the way I have it wired now is good....with the 75A relay I can't check it til I'm done replacing my oil pressure sending line....

No, its a Taurus fan with 2 speeds, I just wired the HI speed to a manual switch....and the low speed was connected to the controller....
HOPEFULLY tomorrow it'll work that way....
Of course I had help wiring it the first time...cus I dunno where to start...

I think on Monday I'm going to pull the belt driven fan off the truck and put the electric I got on there. Just gotta figure out how to wire it so that its running when the truck is running. Red is hot and Black is ground. I do know that much.

Its got HEI, correct ? Wire your 12V to a relay off your IGN terminal on the fuse block....then run another line 12 V hot off the battery to the relay (switched) to the fan....ground the other side of the fan. Then its on when your engine is running only....not 'on acc' or anything.
What kinda fan you got ??
make sure you got a diode wired in so that it don't mess nuthin up when the engine is off....and the winds blow....

these style connectors are nothing but a piece of junk and will cause many hours of frustration until they're removed
