Question how to fit 275 60 15 drag radials???

Just got a 1980 camaro that has 275 60 15 Mickey Tompson drag radials on monte carlo n90 type wheels and the tires rub on the wheel lips on launch or major bumps.

The seller has already removed some of the lip and I plan to roll the wheel lips. But the right side still looks like it will hit the wheel lip. I read these wheels are a different backspace than our n90's and have looked through the sticky for wheel/tire combos, just haven't found this combo.

Here's a link to the car...

It's the link that was in his craigslist ad.

Thanks in advance, Joe

i had the same prob. with my T/A i tought it hit the lip also on launch but after removing the lip it still had the same problem
it was the twisting of the rear axle so hard the leafspring buckeled and the tire was cut on the lip but on the front of the wheelweld

a good set of traction bars and the prob was gone

Those tires will fit in the wheel well correctly with 0 offset wheels. They tuck in nicely on the stockers.

Just checked the monte carlo wheels, they have about 3.5 backspace and 6.3MM offset.Might try my buddys 15x8 with 5" b.s. and see how they look.
Thanks,Joe
