Ok, just got in after a bit more wrenchig.
Out comes the 400/Saginaw 4-speed. The 4-speed was a major factor in doing this in the first place as reverse was all but out of it, so I needed to replace the trans with something. Not sure if I'll go with another 4-speed or a Turbo 350 yet.
There, that was easy!
This is where I got a little separation anxiety! That would be me in the red.

It appears the worse spot on the frame is the 2 front body mount locations.
Does anyone know if they make replacement plates for these like they do the first gens??
I'm hearing voices...

A little sidetrack here I found interesting. We were multitasking today as we also pulled out my brothers 68 Super Gas Camaro to try and get it running again. Been sitting in the corner for a couple years!

You ever realize just HOW MUCH fuel those pumps send to the carb!!!!???
Holy Crap!!

Back on task tomorrow!!

That would be ideal, but the price of a Muncie these days is out of hand for something your hoping is good! Eventually it will have a 4 or 5 speed though.

The original idea was to rebuild the subframe, put it and the motor back in and drive it again - OH how things go astray!!
Pretty safe to say this car won't be green when it goes back together!
Since I was going to paint the firewall and fenderwells the same color and to do it right I blew apart the front clip.
The fenderwells and radiator support will be off to the blasters later today where they'll come back nice and clean like the subframe and control arms did! Love clean parts!!
Once those come back, I'll prime em and set aside while I get this subframe together again.
