One thing to remember, is if it's being stored, do NOT store it on the basic engine stand where the stand is mounted to the rear flange of the engine. That style of stand is only made for working on the engine, and not for any length of storage. I always stress to use an engine cradle type of engine stand where the weight is either held by the block directly, or via motor mounts and rear bottom of block.

Using the type of stand that bolts to the rear bellhousing flange of engine to store for any length of time will oblong the cylinders, especially the ones in the rear.

Yep. Runied my 440 this way. I did not back the valvetrain off even though I taped off the intake and headers, all cylinders with an open exhaust valve needed boring AND the seats were destroyed in the heads! I learned an expensive lesson.
