PTFB Subframe connector question

I sent an email to PTFB a couple weeks ago and have not heard back so I thought I would ask the question here:

I have a 70 Camaro that I'm looking to install the PTFB subframe connectors on. I'm clued in and fairly mechanical, but these seem off to me. Specifically the front subframe connector saddle has an inside width that is about a half inch wider than my front subframe. The subframe on my car tapers down about the last 6 - 8 inches. Anyone else out there experienced this? Are they the wrong SFC's? I can cut the saddle up and fix it, which I will probably do. I just didn't want to be dumb and miss something but these are simple parts.

If I'm not mistake they did that on purpose in order to fit a wider range of cars, since basically nothing on these cars was the same from one to the next it's difficult to make something that will fit tight on all of them.

X2 with above the PTFB connectors are built wide and some people were having issues with them by having to make plates and what not to make up for the gaps.

Mine was 1/8 inch wider than my frame, I filled gap with 1/8 inch plate. that seems excessive to have a 1/2 inch gap. My subframe looks to be close to 4 inches wide where the connector bolts onto. I've got a 1972, mine does not have any kind of taper it is the same width the whole way back.

I had a little gap on my 73, but the bolts sucked it right up.
