With a microswitch, half-to-full throttle is doable. The thin arm that depresses the pin switch is very flexible, with just enough rigidity to have a memory and return to its original position.

That looks very easy to do. Cheap as well. I'm gonna try it, before I burn up my solenoid with the switch hook-up I have now....

Be very careful that you don't set it up half throttle and jamb yourself open!! The switch that I used would not be good for half! Use one with a much longer actuator arm.

I'm posting this here for future reference. These are the adjustable RPM switches.

MSD 8743 chip kit... this is a kit with 5 different chips. Each chip is designed for a different RPM setting, in 200 RPM incremenets. It contains different chips for 3000, 3200, 3400, 3600, and 3800 RPMs.

You can buy these in lots of places, including O'Reillys, SummitRacing, Amazon, etc.
