Orig. water pump color for '73 L82 Z28?

Per the title, looking to find out the original paint color for the L82 water pump in '73? Anyone?

I'll jump in here even though I know nothing at all about your specific car and engine. Every Chevy I've owned (and I've never owned a 73 Z28) had the water pump painted the same color as the engine. From what little I know, I believe the water pump was installed on the engine before the engine was painted, so they will be the same color.

corvette or Z28 ? oh , never mind . it was on the block when it left flint , so it was painted with the block .

The engine (including the water pump) in the 73 Z28 that I bought new was painted a color that I would describe as much more red than orange. Definitely not the same color as every other 'Chevrolet orange' engine that I've ever owned. Anyone else have the same thing?

Yes I have noticed that too... the original orange has a reddish tint to it.
