guage cluster help needed

is there any differance between the circut board on a v6 and v8 guage cluster or are they both the same?

iv got a v6 guage cluster and a v8 guage cluster and sense im doing a v8 swap in my car i want to install the v8 one for the tach. but the curcuitboard on the v8 cluster has a few rips in it. is it possible to take the curcuitboard off the v6 cluster and put it on the v8 cluster or maybe easier is it possible to take the yellow thing. which im asuming is what controls the tach off of the v8 guage cluster and install it on the v6 guage cluster ??

hey Zeek,

I am pretty sure that they are the same. I believe that they are different from idiot lights to guages, but i think that is the only difference.

What i ment was that there are two (to my knowledge) circuit boards, idiot lights and gauges. and if one has actual gauges then it has the tach as well right?

guess it would help if i mentioned this is for a thirdgen. just didnt think it actualy mattered sense i figured it would be fairly the same as a 2nd gen

theres only 1 curcuitboard on the back of the guage cluster which im asuming controls everything that the cuircuitboard is supose to control.

I was under the assumption that it was a second gen cluster. Some pictures may help, but i am at wits end.
