there is. on stock LS motors only the front steam holes are vented, the rears are plugged. Therefore creating more heat in the rear, hence why most failurs occur in number 7.

All new LS motors have the rear steam holes plugged, they've done this for years. There is not that much of a difference in temp between them. Hence it was an issue with air flow/fueling that caused cylinder 7 to have issues. Look it up!

I have and have had first hand experience with it. Use a temp gun and check the reading. All I'm saying is that loction reads 10-15 higher. I've tested it on a dyno and with a temp gun.

If you are saying it's not much hotter than the drivers side front, then I'll agree, but still is. I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that if you want a more accurate reading tap into a rad hose. My fan ECM reads off the water neck.

A lot of people run it off the rear head and wonder why their guage is reading so hot.

LOL, here we are disputing a coolant sensor location what has life come to. In all honesty you can read it in either spot I guess just be leery of readings as they'll vary as we've been discussing.

Only ls2 and newer. Ls1's had all 4 hooked up.

And yes there is a temp difference in the two sensor locations due to how quickly coolant gets to the front most sensor.
