81 kickdown cable

how does the kickdown cable hook up to the carb. elderbrock intake and carb . it looks to me like the cable is to long to work is there something im missing

your "kickdown cable" is really called a TV (throttle valve) cable, anyway... the last time I installed a aftermarket intake and carb I had the same problem... the Throttle plates on the new carb are not as far apart from the rear mounting bolts for the TV cable mount as the OEM. You need to get the Edelbrock TV mount or re-manufacturer yours to work. a bit of cutting and bending and welding might do the job, just make sure you get full stroke out of the throttle into your TV cable or you will not kick the tranny into passing gear...
