We are in the process of building a 355 @ over 500hp / same (Fresh M22) and changing the gear set to 5.86 = same set up my buds 59 Anglia runs in the 9.60 index. However he weighs in @ 1792lbs and the Vega is at 2748lbs
We should get the little gasser in the high 10's low 11's all motor.

NHRA will not pass the car to run faster than 10.5

Tom .....thanks for posting ,i've always liked your vega and that new motor combo is going to be sweet to bad NHRA won't certify you to go faster .guess i'm gonna have to go to LVMS or famosa to watch your car now since the tracks in socal are closed !!

The Vega handles just fine "really" we were very pleased the first time we ran her at Fontana.
Because the Vega handles so well is the reason we are building a 355 for her. Not that I don't like the 302 we want to SAVE the 302...

With that i would NEVER like to get it sideways as I am sure she would go over!

Fontana may reopen, however look for a "REAL DEAL" 1/4 mile track in Perris, Ca. REALLY! 100% approved by the City of Perris!

In the works and in an area where we CAN HAVE the big boys run and NO limits on sound with the ability to run at night also!

I will keep you posted if you wish and I hope Mel (PSCA) gets involved.
