In NY this year, the NERR (Oct 12)
Usually this runs more in the New England states but this is the 5th year trip & they are moving to drive around Middle to Upstate New York and making it a bit longer, maybe you can do the whole trip but if it is your neighborhood, you can came out too
Oct 3 -7, 2012
The Trip will officially kickoff on Wednesday October 3rd, but for those of us cruising in from the east I am adding an extra day if you don't want to have to get up at the crack of ass on Wednesday morning to make it out to Lake George. Plenty of time for things to change but here is the rough draft
Tuesday Oct, 2 - Meet up at Mt. Wachusett in Princeton, MA. Take a slow cruise west down rural Route 2 into New York. Probably make a midday stop at the Saratoga Auto Museum. Arrive in Lake George and take a drive up Prospect Mountain. Fort William Henry Museum is also right there
Wednesday Oct, 3 - Cruise through the Adirondacks up to the Thousand Islands Region at the Canadian border.
Thursday Oct, 4 - Follow the eastern shores of Lake Ontario to New York's Finger Lakes Region
Friday Oct, 5 - Drive "Thunder Road" at Watkins Glen
Saturday, Oct 6 - Maybe end the day in the West Point area after cruising up Perkins Memorial Drive at Bear Mountain
Sunday, Oct 7 - Everyone heads home
2012 NE Rod Run Preview
Take your time & look around the site for more info.

We are driving fools Usually 3 to 4 hours on the road.
Actually they are stopping somewhere north of Scranton PA somewhere that evening.
They are still working out the details for that stop
We have people coming from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maryland, Pennsylvania as well as Canada for this trip. Heck there are even some New Yorkers

I live just a little north of Albany, NY. Been in this area from '69. If there are any questions you my have concerning routes, places to stay, eat, and so on, just PM me. I would really like to make the cruise, but I don't know if I can. The week following the Adirondack Nationals, I'll be heading to Wyoming. I'm not quite certain how long this trip will take.
Enjoy!!

One of the highlights will be driving on track at Watkins Glen Track, you have to check out the website for more info for that day, It cost $ 15.00 to go on the track and it needs to be paid in advance.
Not sure what there are no Camaro's in this picture we were there, altho this is a good shot

I live about 15 minutes from the Saratoga Museum. Great place to see. If you spend the night in Saratoga, stay at the Gideon Putnam. Its next to the Museum. Just bring a lot of $$$$$$$. The rich of the rich stay there. I was only inside once. I was a friend of the Marshall Tucker Band. I walked in with shorts and a t-shirt. I had to leave, go home, get Dockers and a collared shirt. That evening, I met Marylou Whitney's grand daughter. She arrived in a horse drawn coach. I was ready to propose but security dragged me away. Really!! Talk to Phil Rizzuto too.

Do you have specifics as far as the routes, etc. you will be taking? Most of the wifey's family lives in eastern NY, near the Mass/VT border. I could hook up with you in that area. I think it would be cool.

Presently, my car is still in the resto shop. And right now, I'm in Rapid City, South Dakota. For the next four days, I'll be at the Tetons and Yellowstone. I won't be home until Oct 8th.
