anyone use Fusor adhesive?

How strong is this stuff? We use it on SUV tops but that is not what I would call a critical structure piece. Read some info that states it is strong as, or stronger than a weld. I have resevations even though we all know that if I read it on the internet it must be true...lol
Any input from a tech with use of this product?

I did see an article where they did hang a quarter with it, but they said do not use for floor pans...way too much stress

Heck if they can withstand doors being flung open and closed day after day (look at New GM's, there are a lot of door hinges just glued on the body side...No bolts!!) it's got to be pretty good. I know my old S10 hinges were glued and I think my 95 Z28 were too.

Blue,
I think those hinges are welded on.

My 97 Blazer was glued on. I agree if the doors can take all the abuse and weight of it self, than I floor pan should be not much of a problem.

the hinges are glued and spot welded,4th gen camaro doors are bonded together with it, and a common repair is to rebond them

the fusor is stronger than welds in a certain way. if you glue two panels together and pull apart horizontally they will not come apart.. but it you were to pull it vertically so its like your pulling hte panel up off of the bond then its much weaker.. at least thats the way i think it is.. maybe i have them mixed up but i know one way its not near as strong as a weld but the other its stronger. im still pretty old fashioned though as i like welding them on still.

I've used fusor on much of my pannel replacement. Even the floor pans. Hope that was not a mistake. But it seems to be holding very well.
But I also tack weld the holes up, so they are also partially welded.

Curious as to how the Fusor reacted to the heat from welding the holes up, any problems?

I'll look up what pics I have.

As to the welding. It popped a little, like it was trying to let loose, but it never did.
I would not weld large spots over fusor though.

Fusor is good stuff.excellent for quarter panels, door skins and patches.not so good for replacing a floor(full),or any stressed areas(subject to twist)such as a frame rail, floor, or rocker.fusor will not guarantee against rust if you weld the panels.3M also makes an excellent panel bonding adhesive, but they want the ends welded(like the top seam adjoining the roof).many Manufacturers are using Fusor(GM,Daimler-Chrysler,Ford,Toyota etc)in addition to spotwelds, and the buzz in the industry is that they may go to just the adhesives!Yes they are that good! No,I'm not taking kickbacks,I was a skeptic for a long time, but have come to appreciate them over the years.

The fusor rep here gave me a crash course on the stuff. I actually have a fusor "certificate" lol, like I can remember everything. But yeah, it's pretty impressive stuff.

Their plastic adhesives are good too. The rep repaired a a broken piece off my fan shroud. It worked great and the piece is on there for good.

just like any adhesive the parts have to be clean, and follow the directions and it should be fine
