77 lt

i have been looking for a camaro for around 25 years, my dad is a car dealer so you would figure i would land one sometime but the opportunity never came. one night after work my wife showed me a camaro for sale on craigslist and asks if i want it, of course the answer was yes so we headed on a 3 hour run to pick it up. drove it home and parked it in the garage. we planned on fixing it up but my wifes timetable and mine are two different things. then next day i started the tear down. car is a 77 with a fresh 355, t350, vbh suspension front and back, clean interior, 4 wheel disks, 18" rims, new tires, pw/pl, cruise tilt, posi 10 bolt and the body had already been fitted with all new metal. now for the bad. floor is rusted but not bad. i just had to cut out some spots and replace with fresh steel. engine needs a new cam because it was not broken in right. and the usual surface rust under the car. looks like a bit of work but i am mostly looking at a lot of grinding, sandblasting and sanding. frame is clean so there is a big plus. i have about a month jump from this post but that was just dissasembly and floor repair. so far so good everything is coming together. i will post pics as the come.

here is the all important trick, if you want the good parts it will cost you money. so my solution is to drink a lot of cheap beer, this fine brand was $10 for a 30 pack.

thanks for the comments. lazy night here tonight with the snow coming and the wife on me to spend time with her so i said i was sneaking down to roll the car in the garage. managed to sweep up, pull off the front bumper, sort a few parts that were done, pull the glass and start clearing out the stuff on the firewall. found a new rust spot on the dash i will fix tomorrow night, not too motivated tonight!

btw its amazing what you find between the windshield and dash. i found a Chrysler key, a key chain, several screws, a body shim and a beer bottle cap.

Nice work and project. Gotta love those cowl corners, every one I seen in my life had bad cowl corners
