Suggestions for Hidden Audio Setup

Has anyone seen or used a head unit / setup that is mounted out of sight? I want to keep my OEM radio look, but I'm dying for decent sound from the rear package tray speakers.

I kept the stock rears speaker grills and plan to put nice 6x9's there. Any suggestions on how to power them properly, out-of-sight, even if I were just using an Ipod as input, that would be fine.

I'm not that audio-savy, but know enough to be dangerous. Just not sure what current technology and products are out there that might suit my needs without spending a fortune.

[my Ipod] ---> [some kind of amp] ---> (2) 6x9 speakers in rear deck.
w/treble & bass control

Thanks - Jim
