Where is '80Z horn relay?

Horn doesn't work. Checked horns & they are OK. Have cleaned horn contact points in steering wheel. Green wire in engine bay going to the horns is not "hot". Green wire runs from horn to firewall into back side of the fuse panel. Can't find the horn relay. It is not on the firewall and can't find it under the dash. What's up with that? Car is oriiginal so I am not working with a cut up harness. '78 wiring diagram shows red, green and black wires at the horn relay. Can't find any loose/spare wires under the dash so I don't think the relay was taken out. Going crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Danny

My '79 manual shows the wiring coming out of the main harness exiting just above the fuse box. Wires are dark green, red, and black. They might have changed the location in 1980 due to a changeover in fuse styles, but it should be in the same area.

Thanks John,

Kept looking and finally found it. Relay was plugged into another connector and it all looked like one piece. It's a pain working under there. Looks like the relay is bad but ran into another problem, have no current to the connector that the relay plugs into. Don't know if the relay is fused but checked all the fuses and they are good. May just run a "hot" jumper to the connect to get power to it.

RSDannyG,

It fused through a 20A labeled "Haz / Stop" on my '79 circuit diagram, may be different on an '80 with ATC fuse box. There should be no power through the red wire until the ignition switch is in "Run". Relay pull in coil is energized by completing ground through the horn switch. Power to the horn is sent through the dark green wire, through the horn coils, then to ground.
