How well does the SEM paint hold up to general abuse???

I've been wanting to redye my center console but don't want a cheap looking
aftermath with scuffs and chips everywhere showing. Just curious.....

Do Not Buy Spray Cans For Overall Dying!!!

These spray cans are $10.00+ at the outlets, mail order etc. Find a local paint supply that MIXES SEM brand paint and buy a quart of the color you need. If the paint store can't mix the color you specify(meaning custom colors too) they are not up to par with what you are doing. $45.00 for a quart or $11.99 per spray can, and you don't get the results that you will from a gun. If you need to "spot in" an area, the spray cans are great. A reputable store can even do their own aerosol cans with the color you want in it for touch-ups.

ACE, SEM makes what they call a high traffic are high abuse clear coat for heavily used interior parts. Its not high gloss it maintains a satin finish if applied right. They sell a product called vinyl prep that you can wipe down vinyl and plastic with its a water based chemical works great, then you use their XXX adhesion promoter, then if you are changing a color the recommend a primer surfacer that they make which also bonds well, thenm you spray your color and use their clear if you want. I did my lower door panels about 15yrs ago and its still on there and its nice!!!!

ACE,
The number is SEM 13018 satin clear. It comes in pints and is to be sprayed through a gun. I'll go down to my distributor tomorrow and see if he still has the kit. If he does I'll get you a price on it. I know he used to have it in a spray can you can buy most of SEM PRODUCTS either way in an aerosol can or gun sprayable. Spraying through a gun definately holds up longer and is more durable

Go straight to SEM. I'll see what I can find out tomorrow
You dont have to use a gun but they say that is the best way. Im sure if you take your time and do it right and its super clean either way would work
