Would this be possible?
I know this might be tough to answer, but I'm looking at possibly installing these seats in my '79 Z. They're out of a '93 Nissan Maxima, black leather. This is the drivers seat, they're power seats and size wise they should fit. My questions are:
1. What would I be getting into? Drilling holes in floor? Bending brackets? Fabricating new pieces? Etc...
2. For those who have done a similar mod with seats from other cars (3rd, 4th gen F-bodies, Mustangs, Hondas, etc..) what are some pointers and things you learned? Anything could help. Thanks guys!

A couple of issues I can see right away:
The inner seat track is mounted higher than the outer track.
The power seat may make you sit too high in the car and look through the top 1/3rd of the windshield.
I'd pop the seat in unmounted and sit down to see where you're sitting, and if that on its own would work for you. From there, it's a question of fabricating brackets.

Most import seats are a bad choice for our cars pretty much anything with a seatbelt mounted to the side of it is a bad choice. Most import seats the tracks cant be removed because there integrated into the bottom of the seat, so theres no chance of using stock tracks on the seats frame.those are not looking like there gonna work.

IF you can cut, paste bend and weld, you've got it licked UNLESS they are just too high off the floor.
Would it be a ton of work. . .uh, probably
Would the results be worth it if you spent any amount of time in the car. . .I think so but that is all opinion as I have bone stock seats.
Good luck, post results,
Brent

As stated above, if they make you sit too high then can them, but if they'll work, view this link.

This is all good input! Thanks! I'll definitely refer to the spav350's write up, I think that should help a lot! I do still need to set them in the car and see how high up they'll make me sit, luckily I'm 5'7'' so hopefully I'll have room...we'll see though.
I should've made it more clear in the original post, the seat tracks pictured are the driver seat, so the door side sits higher than the console side...this is how our original seat tracks sit, at least on late second gens, right? So maybe that offset would help at least a little?
