I don't know about "best" but I'm running a carter mechanical with a nearly identical cam to that, with a 750 edelbrock. Not sure the model #, its the regular carter street pump w/ the rebuildable diaphragm thats been around forever

Unless you're planning on the giggle juice, a good mechanical such as the Carter will work just fine.

The cheap Carter pumps are hard to beat. Often you can spend much more only to find out that the fancy ones tend to leak and need repairs. The cheap throw-away Carters tend to run about 100K miles and then you throw them away and $15 gets you another new one.

Another vote for carter here. I use the M6900 on a couple of different motors and wouldn't trust anything else. Unfortunately, I believe Carter has discontinued that model, don't know if another model is similar. personally, I have never had good luck with Holley mechanical pumps. good luck.

I started off with an inexpensive carter when I was running my qjet. It worked great! This was on my 383 - which is very similar to yours with a slightly larger cam.

I then thought I had to upgrade when I went with my Holley 4150. I first tried a Holley 110 gph pump (I sent it back due to inconsistent fuel pressure).

I currently have an Edelbrock Vic Jr pump (130 gph). It works great with my return-style regulator. It's probably overkill, but I have no complaints.

Carter 172 or Holley 130 or 170gph mechanical pump will be more than you ever need with that engine. You could actually do fine with a 110gph pump, but the others dont cost that much more and you will never have to wonder if it is enough.

That one looks just about right. I have the big brother to that one which requires a regulator. I'm happy with mine. It looks like you can index the base to get the fuel lines where you need them. Good price, too!
