White smoke, but not antifreeze

Hi,
I've just overhauled my 4150 Holley, and have the car running after 3 long years.

The Gas itself is getting slightly pink, not this healthy faint yellow it used to be.

The Antifreeze itself, doesn't look that good, but will be completly flushed as soon as I get home in the next month.

The Oil was changed before the car stopped working (3 years ago)

The fuel in the carb, was totally crystalized - thats why i overhauled it.

But now if the car runs in idle, the fumes a at first clear. After the car is getting warmer it gets more and more white and looks like thick cigarette smoke.

But it doesn't smell, not sweet as with antifreeze, its not blueish as with oil.

BUT the smoke realy f** burns in the eyes.
Could it just be the old fuel???

What else would give white smoke while warm idle or driving?

Thanks
Julian

possible headgasket? could the antifreeze be getting into the combustion chamber and burning off? replace all of the fluids in that motor and ill bet itll stop. obviously a chemical burning off if its hurting your eyes.

Thought that too. But it doesn't smell like antifreeze. At least I doesn't smell the typical sweet smell of it.

The car doesn't have any Kat's or other environmentally stuff in it
It smells more like the typical old car bad fumes.

HI, just found a video of a fellow member.

He just fired the car up and the smoke looks kinda the way mine looks.

Mine is a little bit thicker, and gets pretty thick as it warms up and is being revved.

Video

Could be.
Especially with this old gas in it.

But during idle? To bottom up these holley idle screws, its just 1/2 turn -> running lean.

And I can't check AF ratio till the next month

Condensation I don't think so

I was driving the car the same day for about an hour, and even after that it smoked like hell (but it didn't burn that much in the eyes)

later that evening I let it idle, till it was well warmed up, in the garage and there it was all over again.

What would happen if I got a bad modulator valve at the Trans. It it would burn ATF??

Pull the line off the modulator and see if there is oil there. If so thats your problem.

If I only new where the modulator is, and if I even have one.

How would I identify a vacuum line to it?

Usually if it smells "like old car fumes" and its burning your eyes its running rich. My car does the same thing, it used to burn my eyes but I leaned it out, now it just smokes a bit.

The interesting thing is. I cant remember that it did it 3 years ago. But now, after the carb overhaul. It runs better. more vacuum, and the Holley idle screws are 1/2 turn from the leanest point.
idle is around a low 800 rpm.

I dont understand it.
