Unhappy help........

ok. Earlier today I was driving my Camaro down the freeway ..since my camaro dosent have an overdirve it travels at 3000-3500 rpm at 60-70mph.

before i got off my designated exit I heard a loud "pop!" and "drag!" my vehicle started to lose speed but quickly gained it as it stoped at the intersection light.

at the light though my vehicle turned off, I quickly put it in Park, started it up and when I put it in "drive" the car turned off. So I did the above process till my car drove (which was on my 3rd try).

When I pulled in the smog station as soon as I made the turn, the vehicle stoped and I had to do the whole process all over again.

When I was there, One of the guys there told me one of my valves must'ove got stuck open. Upon firing up the Camaro again this time i noticed there was oil coming up the Oil dipstick and oil was coming out at the base of the PCV valves and one of the PCV valves at the base was all loose and there seemed to be escaping quite a bit of oil mist through there.

My ignition timing is set at 10degrees BTDC
whenever I set it at 8 degrees BTDC the car stumbles and dies, if I put it on drive it dies on me.
When i first got the Camaro the ignition timing was waaaaaaayyy retarded the mark wasn't even in the timing marks.... but strangely the Camaro fired up and did not die on me...

So what could be the problem here?

ill assume the oil pressure building up enough to push your oil out rules out my first thought which was electrical " ignition wires, switch etc. etc." DO NOT start your car for any reason. something on the bottom end maybe?

well thats always a good thing to do but i would recommend diagnosing the problem first. i tend to spend money on my car more often than my fiance or my daughter sometimes and i hate myself for it. save your money for whats really important and just buy what you need to fix it.

Sounds like it's time for a timing chain gear set.

Check your timing again now that this incident happened. If the distributor is still pointing in the same orientation it was before but the timing is now retarded from where it used to be set, you skipped a tooth on the timing chain. Still, gushing oil out the dipstick and breathers isn't a good sign for the bottom end.
