What went here? 79 dash space

For all you 79-81 heads... in the center dash bezel just below the center A/c vents and just right of the Lighter.. is a narrow indention or space... what went there? For the life of me I can't think of anything.... That space is just screaming to have something put in it.... Or maybe it's just my brain screaming that something needs to fill that space.. LOL

On mine there is one light which comes on at start which says "Fasten Seat Belts" then goes off shortly. Everything in that area is of no consequence to me because I'm gonna cut it out and install a computer monitor. To me its just screaming for a 7" Touchscreen

A 7in touchscreen would look awesome there. Then you can use the original radio location for a set of gauges.

I was going to make the check engine light say "OH SH!T!" and hook it up to a full throttle switch

i put my switch plate there. no A/C and no need for a power port. so i just cut it out and mounted my switches there.

A shift light would be a great idea.
