Power Windows Fried

Hey Guys,

I was driving in traffic last Fall and my power window switch in my 1980 caught fire. Oh yeah, hell of a smell in the car for a month, but since it was Fall, I didn't mind my windows being permanently up. Lately though, it's been hot as hell here and the problem is not only did I have my switch burnt to a crisp, the wiring mount that the switch hooks into is warped and useless as well. All that is salvagable is the wires themselves, untouched below the black plastic connector and which should work fine if i can find those two parts. Any ideas on where to find these random parts new? I've tried local parts shops and no dice even ordering them in...if anything, do any of you guys know a way to connect the wires so I can use the windows in the meantime as I search the local wreckers again :P hahaha?!

Hi,

Look here for a wiring diagram: http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/wire/78w-pw.jpg.
So the switches feed +12V to the up or down leads of the window motors.

Also, why did the switch burn? Did the windows jam or something? Maybe something to look at.
