[quote] Make Your Own Damn Big Mac Sauce Recipe
This recipe is from the 1968 McDonald's Manager's Handbook put out in 1969 (1968 year) They quickly removed the recipe after realizing they had a very appealing "secret sauce." It was included as an emergency recipe in the event a particular store ran out of the pre-made sauce. [quote]
Got this from a friend and made it bought a Big Mac and licked the sauce, then licked this sauce. Couldn;t tell the difference. Come on now, there are some of you out there that crave Big Macs on occasion, I see it in your faces. Don;t deny it. I also have the rest of the list he sent for the burgers, seasonings etc. Message me if you want it.... More
Prep:3m Cook:60m Servings:8
bigmac
Ingredients
1/4 cup KRAFT Miracle Whip
1/4 cup Hellmans mayonnaise or for you folks west of the Mississippi Best foods mayonnaise (same stuff different name)
2 Tablespoons, heaping, WISHBONE deluxe French salad dressing (the orange stuff)
1/2 Tablespoon HEINZ sweet relish
2 teaspoons, heaping, VLASIC dill pickle relish (Heinz dill relish also works)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried, minced onion
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon ketchup
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
Mix everything very well in a small container.
There better be no streaks!
Microwave 25 seconds, and stir well again.
Cover, and refrigerate at LEAST 1 hour before using.( to allow all of the flavors to "meld". )
Makes nearly 1 cup...enough for about 8 burgers [quote]

I usually get the double cheese burgers with Big Mac sauce on it. Like you I like the sauce but not the feeling i get after eating one when I haven't eaten a burger from McD in awhile.

Didn't say it was seriously great, it's just still cheap.
Get 2 of them and a coke under $5.

I think it's their cheese that sucks?? Too "cheesy", maybe??
It's not by me a good American cheeseburger cheese like I've eaten when I was a kid. You know, the kind that will turn brown on the corners grilled on top the burger. Good burger cheese, imho.
I buy their little single burgers and they are fine.
And I have to say that every so often I get a hankering for some White Castle belly-bombers!
Closest White Castle is over in St. Charles tho, just off I-70

I had a few of their new burgers and a double double cheese burger. I just can't get over the fact that the meat in their burger is akin to chewing air. It has no substance to it. Tastes good, but come on.
