Door Sag

I have an 81 camaro and the back ends of the door sag. You have to push and lift up on the doors to close them. Do i have to replace the hinges or is there a quicker and easier way to fix this problem? thanks

You need to fix the hinges. There are brass(?)bushings in there that wear out.You can get a pin and bushing kit at auto parts stores and the resto shops(NPD,Classic...)Do a search in here for instructions on whats involved.

Replace the hinge bushings and pins.

You should be able to look at the hinges and tell if they need replaced. If the holes where the pins go through are oblong or oval shaped its best to get new hinges. They make over sized bushing that you can drill the hole bigger and install a thicker bushing if its not to bad. These doors are so heavy once the bushings go if it is ignored it will ruin a set of hinges in no time.
