The syncronizer enables the ignition and fuel injection system to distinguish between the exhaust and compression stroke. This is only nescesary for sequential fuel injection and/or coil per plug ignition. Note the two holes in the syncronizer body near the bronse distributor gear. The small hole in the oil galley area supplies oil to the sycronizer shaft, and the larger hole further up drains that same oil onto the camshaft gear. My brother Brian designed the housing, and sensor mount, specified the bearings and bushing. I machined every part but the bronze gear. |
