496 Chevy Big Block installed coil-per-cylinder ignition and sequential fuel injection. Note the absence of a distributor. In place of a distributor, a syncronizer is installed that tells the fuel injection and ignition controller whether the engine is on its exhaust or compression stroke allowing control of an individual coil-per-cylinder ignition and for sequential fuel injection.
