This is my 1970 Camaro. I bought it in 1971, it had about 12K miles when I got it. (It has 53K now)
As for paint, it has had the lower quarters and nose painted for rock chips. And it had some paint flake away around the tail lights and one chip back by the rear window. I had those two spots cleaned and repainted. So the hood, top of the car and fenders and trunk lid is still all original paint!! (The car has been maintained over the years....never 'restored'.)
For the first year this was the daily driver, so it was driven one winter. But after that I put it up every winter. So its never had any rust.
Its still got the original spare tire in the trunk.
For documentation I still have all the original contracts when I bought the car. I also have a copy of the dealer sticker and the dealer prep sheet. The sticker shows the Z stripes installed as a \'dealer option\'. (The dealer still has the originals.) I didn\'t get the owners manual or the protect-o-plate when I bought the car though. And as for the \'build sheet\' I guess its still in the car somewhere, I\'ve never removed it.
Oh, and I\'ve never been beat on the street. |

I can look for one. But its not that impressive. Pretty much stock looking. Although I did trade the stock air cleaner off of it....about 36 years ago, for a stock one off of a 69 Camaro.

Well I see the Z27 is for the SS package, so I imagine all of the SS's got that stamp...but not sure how many were made in 1970.
In 1969 there were about 35,000 of them.
Does that help?

I always seem to get this question...how much did I pay for this car back in 1971...
It was sitting on the lot for $2495...and considering the sticker for it just the year before was $4400, that was a pretty good bargain!

My Camaro is running 14" tires, not 15's...the Z28's had 15's though...

My Dad used to say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it, but Son I know you are going to fix it anyway so you might as well do it right the first time."
