View Full Version : Deskto Dyno 2000- SBC head flow files are finished
Damon 01-22-2004, 09:01:00 PM I have complete my trasctiption of ALL of Chevy High Performance's SBC head flow numbers into Desktop Dyno format. 37 heads in all. I included the correct valve diameters and assumed they flowed them at 28" (since they don't say what they actually flowed them at). Please remember that CHP flowed them in stock, out-of-the-box configuration with no porting.
Anyone want to host this? Otherwise, drop me an email and I'll send you the ZIP file.
Zee 01-22-2004, 10:30:00 PM I would like a copy of the files if you get the chance. What version of DD are you using?
Grizz 01-22-2004, 11:03:00 PM I bet smokemup.com would host it for you and give you credit too. They have a ton of cam files on their site.
Eric 01-23-2004, 01:07:00 AM I can host this/them on my little area of this board if you like...
Damon 01-23-2004, 07:43:00 AM I'm using Dyno 2000 v3.1
Eric- you've got mail.
I'll be doing the big blocks next.
Plugging in a few of the combinations I've built in the last year or so I'm getting results that seem VERY close to what the motor actually did, so the flow rates definitely pass the "sanity test."
Eric 01-24-2004, 02:15:00 AM OK Problem: Flow files created under different versions of DD2000 are not usable by others as-is. My DD2000 V3.08 tells me to basically go ef myself.
Looking at the raw file- I can make DD2000 v3.08 open it by editing it to read as if it was from version 3.08 instead of 3.10 in the file's header (using MS WordPad).
So any feedback on this? I will have to take some time to either post instructions on how to edit the airflow file to work with whatever version of DD2000 you're using, or a link to somewhere that has DD2000 upgrades (i.e. free). Anyone know of such a link?

Damon 01-24-2004, 01:22:00 PM Or you could upgrade to v3.1 from the link in this forum posted by another memeber. Something about "for free". Nuf' said.
midnight motor 01-24-2004, 02:44:00 PM can I get the flow files too.

That Motion upgrade is handy- but a rather multi-stepped process if you have a version older than 3.08!
strokinnova 02-09-2005, 01:01:00 PM wha tsize valves do you guys leave them at i am just going with 2.02 and 1.60 is that good enough
Damon 02-10-2005, 06:08:00 PM Wow! Another post back from the dead.
You use whatever valve size the head was flowed at. The valve size is part of the head flow file information. Like the Vortec heads are 1.94/1.50. AFR 190 heads are 2.02/1.60, etc, etc.
You click on the button in the top toolbar of DD2000 that takes you to the airflow file of whatever you currently have selected and you'll see a chart with the flow numbers at various lift points, the valve sizes that were in the head at the time of the testing and the pressure differential it was flowed at (28" vacuum, 25" vacuum, whatever).

those files and the cam files are on www.prestage.com (http://www.prestage.com) and have been for years.

WOW!!
I just noticed that THAT's the link that came up. http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/confused.gif
That's not the link I wanted to give.
No wonder nobody used it
I meant to post Prestage's link, like hhott71 did.
Although it isn't working right now.
