i've got the older style mallory ignition amplifier and have already downloaded a wiring diagram to hook up to a unilite. now my question is where does the stock tach lead hook up to.does it go to the coil or to the coil hook-up on the ignition box.

There should be a tach signal terminal on the box. Hooking the tach to the coil is a no-no with most all of the aftermarket boxes. You'll toast the tach, then the box.

only terminals on the box are trigger, ground, positive coil and negative coil

I can't find a thing on this box. I really think you ought to call/e-mail Sam Solace at Century and get his input. He's been dealing with Mallory for a long time and is probably more experienced than the new phone jockeys at Mallory/MrGasket.

I would trust Sam,, if he says negative side of the coil, then it's negative side of the coil. Where did you get this box. Is it a dinasour, something new,,, ???? I can't find a thing on it.
Remember the unilite is somewhat touchy about voltage and spikes. Make sure that resistor STAYS in the loop.
