or on 71 Z 28 is like 70 Z 28 you could not de code it by the vin # or cowl
tag..I look for dual exhuast hanger's but dd not see them cause the 70 Z 28
has welded hangers could 71 Z28 where they relocated in that year? And did
the 71 Z 28 come with rear sway bar shackeles? like the 70 Z 28 or ???I did
notice the fuel lines look diffferent..? The 71 looks like it 4 fuel in the gas tank.Or is that aftermarket set up? An i noticed where the curved fuel lines
are mounted on the body there is also like like a male shackle is that for sway
bar ?? for 71 Z 28 .Can you Nasty Z experts help me with this 71 Z 28 barn find car . I have look @ the cowl tag an it seems to me it is also like 70 Z28

If the car was built in Norwood, it will say Z28 on the cowl tag. If it was built at Van Nuys, there is no information on the cowl tag or the VIN to identify a Z28. In this case, the surest way to identify a Z28 is with a build sheet or other documentation. Most Van Nuys built Camaros have one or more copies of the build sheet hidden in the car somewhere.
Look for the Z28 only options on the car. Only Z28 had the floor mounted gas pedals. Z28 should have two small chrome fangs or bumper guards under the rear bumper. Z28 should have spacers under the front suspension rubber snubbers.
Dual exhaust hangers indicate it was either Z28 or SS. Rear swaybar mounts on the frame aren't as useful because any Camaro could be ordered with them, but on a Z28 they would be mandatory.

Yes, the floor mounted gas pedal was used on the Z28 in both 1970 and 1971.
