I've read thru the Vortec sticky and have learned a lot. I've got a new set of 062 castings that I'm wanting to use on a flat top piston 355 I have. It will only be used on the dragstrip so I'm wanting to up the compression some. I was wanting some feedback on results of milling to reduce combustion chamber size. Have you flat milled them or angle milled them and what size chamber did you end up with? Any cracking problems after milling? Any gasket sealing problems or having to use a certain gasket?
I was originally under the impression they could only be flat milled and that .050 was about the maximum.
Also any suggestions on intakes would be appreciated. The car is race only 3000lb, turbo 350 with BTE 10"converter, 4:56 gears and runs 1/8mi.
