I was hopeing one of you guys could run my combo on a desktop dyno here it is
383 eagle crank, rods and KB pistons
1969 041?s (off 302 z28 motor) extensivly worked. With expensive manly race valves not sure on the exact type
Preformer RPM manifold
Hop'ed up HEI, coil, modual and springs
Flowtech afterburner headers
Cam i have now is a summit 224/465 but am considering a Comp 228/480 could you run both cams please. New crane springs
Also my carb is a Vac secondary holly 650 can you also run it with a 750 too
Also I have no rockers yet I am debateing on 1.5s or 1.6s can you run those too
The car is a 1978 Z28 with a 2400 stall converter BM transpak and a oversize pan with the stock 3.42s I want more gear but am not sure if I need it and if I do how much , 3.73s , 3.90s , 4.10s this is not yet assembled so any oppinions are apprectiated. Also what doi you guys think she will run
Thanks

That's an awfully small cam for a 383.
But anyway.
This is what I'm showing.

With the summit 1104 cam (1.5 rockers), open small tube headers, and 650 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 362@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 432@ 3500rpm

With the summit 1104 cam (1.5 rockers), open small tube headers, and 750 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 365@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 433@ 3500rpm

With the summit 1104 cam (1.6 rockers, .496" and 226*), open small tube headers, and 650 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 366@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 433@ 3500rpm

With the summit 1104 cam (1.6 rockers, .496" and 226*), open small tube headers, and 750 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 369@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 434@ 3500rpm

With the comp cam (1.5 rockers), open small tube headers, and 650 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 362@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 438@ 3500rpm

With the comp cam (1.5 rockers), open small tube headers, and 750 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 365@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 440@ 3500rpm

With the comp cam (1.6 rockers .512"/230*), open small tube headers, and 650 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 369@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 437@ 3500rpm

With the comp cam (1.6 rockers .512"/230*), open small tube headers, and 750 cfm carb.
Peak HP; 372@ 5000rpm
Peak TQ; 439@ 3500rpm

That motors peak is at about 4600 rpm with the last setup.

Looks like you've got a very mis matched setup. That thing should be putting out around 400hp. You need more compression and more cam.

I dabbled a bit with your combo but as they say garbage in garbage out. Engine Analyzer Pro wants way more info than you have supplied. To get anything close to reality you need to have your heads flowed. You also can't begin to estimate the proper specs on the cam until this is done either. Kinda shootin in the dark. Anyway I used a prepped 441 head and made some other assumptions, like you'd run a water pump and fan, about 1.5 psi backpressure on the exhaust and came up with around 350HP with the 228 cam and a 750.

The cam is pretty small and the thing dies pretty quick in the RPM band so I don't think I'd get carried away with the gears.

Yea, like Rick said.
I had to make allot of assumptions.
I figure it's a ballpark number.

I read a story once on a set of those heads that had been max ported and they were surprised they got 240cfm.I guess they expected less.

Ok guys Thanks alot for the oppinions. The heads were off a stock car they have everything done to them money can pay for. What would you guys reccomend for a Cam. I thought with those cams it would peak at more like 5,700 or so. What do I have to change to get 415hp 430 tq or so. I chose that Comp ratio for fear of not running on pump gas can I get away with more cause if so I will get new pistons. This engine is going in a street car with occasional trips to the 1/8th (only local track) Are my headers insufficent? everything is open to change I only have 3/4s of the parts so far, The cam being one of them Oh well it was only 50 bucks or so. i do plan on runing an electric fan. I am lost on the electric water pump.I also plan on a 75 shot in the future but that is not my concern at the moment. Thanks guys
