The motor in my 94 Explorer is still knocking. I've put 5000 miles on the knock, hoping it would just blow up.
It's coming from the bottom of the motor, right where the starter goes into the bellhousing. I snaked a rubber hose in there, and it will almost blow out your eardrum. I really don't want to pull the motor, it's a real pain in the butt!!
It sounds like I'm driving a diesel when I accelerate, and a single knock when at cruising speed. I want to keep it around for a while, the 4x4 is great in the winter.

dunno. i had a old truck that sounded like crap, smoked, knocked, ticked, was a cheapie truck so i went and threw TONS of lucas oil treatment lubricant in it and ;0 no more knocking, i wouldnt really reconmend what i did to a real car but it stopped everything, no more smoking either seriously is nuts.
