Ive seen some cars that have a chrome tube for the upper rad hose that is connected to two small rubber ends for the connections. anyone know how to do this or where to get it?

This is just exhaust pipe that was bent to the shape or configuration that would allow short pieces of rubber connections with clamps attach to the water outlet on the engine and radiator.

Some people have the piece painted, powder coated, ceramic coated, Jett Hott coated or plated.

Just get some straight wire like welding rod and make the bends where you want the tubing to be bent and don't forget the downward angles! Take the rod to a muffler shop and have them bend the pipe to match but have them cut the lengths a little longer then your measurements so you can have excess to trim off and fit to your car. This is also good in case you need to take the pipe back and have them adjust or re-bend the pipe. After test fitting and matching the angles you want, you'll just need a couple of straight pieces of hose and 4-hose clamps.

The pipe from a muffler shop should not cost you more than $20.00 to have them cut and bend it for you. How you finish it is another cost to figure in and if you use some custom covering over the rubber hose and special hose clamps, this will add to the cost but will personalize your engine bay!

Kinda like this...

I actually found a chrome kit for a mustang and was able to make some cuts in the pipe and it worked well.

Here's an example of the kits you can find: http://www.mustangforums.com/upfiles/10130/C9E73ED033F642908D4F7548864446DE.jpg

Don't really care for that look...looks like chrome-plated vacuum hose to me.

Years ago after my B-i-L took my car out and ripped both mm's street drag racing which caused my fan belt to raise up and cut my top rad hose, I used a piece of chrome kitchen sink drain pipe to do this!

it's still in the trunk of my car..

Sad part was that he cracked a head for me!!!

But he beat the GTO!!!

I did my Vega similar to the way Chris did but started out with a straight piece of aluminum tubing then used my buddies bender to get the shape and finally polished it. turned out great.

I Agree with John about the Coolflex product. The corrugated insides make me wonder what collects inside those nooks and crannies...

Instead of using welding rod, a better choice would be to use a corregated metal carb preheater hose (the one that goes between the exhaust manifold and the air cleaner) to get the bends right as well as being able to check for clearances, etc. I did this when I was installing my supercharger, brought the hose into Napa, and they were able to match up a moulded radiator hose that worked bitchin! Should work for an exhaust shop as well.
