I did a search & didn't see the answer I'm looking for. My Edelbrock RPM heads came with guide plates. When I setup my harland sharp roller rockers (1.5 ratio & XE274H cam), it seemed like a few of the rockers did not sit square on the valve tip. No matter how much I adjusted the guide plates - either one rocker or the other was off (not much, but it was noticable).

When I was checking my valve geometry a while back, somebody mentioned that I may need to look into split guide plates.

My question is can I cut the Eddy guideplates in half? Seriously, is this a bone-headed thing to do, or is it legit?

I'm in the second-guessing stage before I fire this thing up, so please bear with me :)

Here is a picture of the Isky guide plates on my Sportsman II heads. I bought them from Summitt. They will correct the geometry and you may have to grind a bit to get the adjustments that you need, however, they work pretty good. On most of them, I had to grind the edges of the tangs off on either side a bit so that I had the adjustments.
